The advisory board is looking for ways to make the Michigan User Group more productive. Please reply to this post with ideas you may have that would (in your mind) enhance your attendance at our next User Group meeting in May. Be as detailed as possible as this will help us make the Michigan User Group more of a collaborative, participatory meeting, instead one presentation after the other.

Altiris Michigan User Group Meeting

Join us at the next Michigan User Group meeting on Friday, August 22 from 8:30am to 12:00pm. This meeting will focus on learning CMDB best practices, rules for automation and keeping the CMDB live and dynamic. Dave Durkee will give a demo of the CMDB implementation at Meijer and our special guest speaker will be Asset Management guru Cindy Mazeika from Symantec. Breakfast will be served.

After a week of reading many posts about problems with the new Optiplex 755 and the new Intel 82566 DM-2 network cards I have finally found a solution. I have verified that using this driver that the network card works in both Windows Deployment Server and Altiris Deployment Server. I have not tested BartPE.

Here's my dilema.

I have a script that is triggered after an image has been deployed and Windows has finished its mini-setup that runs and creates a registry key on the target PC.

The key includes the DATE and TIME the image was created and supposedly the user that is logged into the DS.

Does anyone out there in Michigan (or anywhere else)have any Altiris Notification Server or Deployment Server table related questions?

Task Server and the ASDK

Task Server and the ASDK

Has anybody had issues with sending a task to a computer. I can send it to a collection but not a computer using the ASDK and ExecuteTask method. Also the task shows up under tasks but will not run.

I do have the script work now where it create a hidden collection and then kicks off the task. If anyone wants to see the script let me know.
