Service & Asset Management Suite - Administration and Configuration

This course enhances your understanding of the lifecycle management process and how to configure the proper tools to use at each stage in the process. You will learn to manage the assets in your enterprise from procurement to asset retirement (a process called IT Lifecycle Management) through asset inventory, establishing and maintaining asset control within IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards, using Best Practices to manage assets and reduce asset total cost of ownership (TCO), and effectively managing warranty contract and licensing information. In addition to instruction on Notification Server and Altiris Agent, Altiris Asset Management Suite - Administration and Configuration includes hands-on instruction with Inventory Solution, Application Metering Solution, Asset Control Solution, Contract Management Solution, Connector Solution, Barcode Solution, and TCO Management Solution. You leave class with the knowledge and skills needed to confidently install and configure your Configuration Management Database.

This course is intended for those who will be installing, configuring, and maintaining an Asset Management Suite Level 2 infrastructure, and for those working toward their Altiris Certified Professional (ACP) and Altiris Certified Engineer (ACE) certifications.

Learn to use many of the features, functions, and processes of Asset Management Suite in the Altiris Asset Management Suite - User Essentials class. This hands-on class enhances your ability to evaluate the inventory of the assets in your enterprise, establish and maintain organizational and financial structures, use Best Practices to manage assets and reduce asset total cost of ownership (TCO), and effectively manage warranty contract and licensing information. You leave class with the knowledge and skills needed to confidently manage resources in your enterprise.

This course is intended for those responsible for the daily management of company assets including the relevant tasks:

• Creating and editing assets
• Tacking contracts, viewing reports
• Identifying existing data for import
• Setting up organization and financial structures
• Determining inventory schedules
• Configuring software compliance details
