Workflow Tutorial: Using the Merge Editor

String variables can be "merged" into regular text items such as e-mail. This project will explain how to do this using the Merge Editor.

Prerequisites: None

Objective: To learn the use of the Merge Editor.

Step 1: Create a new Decision Only project.

Step 2: Click on the Input Data tab to enter string variables as shown below:

Step 3: Click on the Model: Primary tab and drag and drop the SendEmail component under the Communications category. Connect the components as shown below. Right click on the SendEmail component and select EditComponent.

Step 4: In the Edit Component window, click on the selector box next to the Contents box. The Advanced Text Creator form appears.

Step 5: Type a message in the Design View tab. String variables from the App Data tab may be added to the message by dragging and dropping.
