Manage Your RAM
I found a very nice and useful freeware program that enables me to manage my RAM. This is very helpful when your computer slows down because Windows is sloppy in managing RAM.
Freeware application to free and optimize your computer's RAM (Random Access Memory), resulting in an increase in system performance and productivity. Automatically configures itself for ease of use and also features advanced options and customizability. FreeRAM XP Pro has been designed to be easy to use yet highly customizable by computer novices and experts alike.
Download it, and get surprised.

Hmmm....
I wouldn't recommend applications like these, the only thing they do is force windows to unload applications to the page file.
The more applications in memory, the faster your applications will start.
Nowadays adding extra memory to your computer costs the same as 10 packages of cigarettes :)

I found a simple way to determine if the the Memory App is a Page File pusher or actually performs some magic.
Disable the windows page file then reboot the system. After the reboot, run the memory manager app once the system has been used for a bit. If then memory is freed up, the application is not so useless after all.

not special
Hey Erik, I think that other programs can too. (It´s not special)
And consume memory itself.
Look to SweepRAM. http://88.191.26.34/computers_are_fun/sweepram/
SweepRAM is a little freeware application that will very quickly try to free some unused RAM. It is different than most if not all memory cleaners out there for a couple of reasons:
- it is not a resident: start it, it’ll do its job and then it’s done, execution ends.
- it doesn’t work as most memory cleaner, that tries to allocate as much memory as they can, then releasing it
And SweepRAM has a "silent mode", like this SweepRAM.exe /S e.g. for DesktopIcon

Manage your ram
This program is one that i use for several years now, because it helps me to make a strong fist agains memory leak programs.
It keeps my Citrix servers up and running for long times without the need of rebooting.
