Disabling Summary Reporting in the Inventory

Ensure inventory summary reporting is disabled to prevent managed computers generating unnecessary events by repeatedly sending the same information to the Notification Server. This field is disabled by default.

  1. In the Altiris Console, click the Configuration tab.
  2. In the left pane, select Configuration > Solutions Settings > Software Management > Patch Management > Windows (for Linux select Linux) > Software Inventory.
  3. In each of the policies in the Dell and Global folders, clear the Send inventory summary checkbox.
Note: I recommend you leave the Only report inventory if changed checkbox selected, to keep track of any changes that may require new updates.
