Endpoint Security Solution 6.0 Service Pack 1 Now Available

Endpoint Security Solution 6.0 Service Pack 1 is now available for download and installation. Be aware that 6.0 agents will not be able to receive policy updates from a 6.0 SP 1 server due to changes in policy encryption. It is recommended that the deployment of server and agent updates are implemented together.

New Features

• Advanced scripting - This feature will allow custom VB or Java scripts to be distributed with a policy and triggered on a variety of events.
• Improved Agent Protection - Configurable agent tampering and password protected agent uninstall can be enabled from the policy.
• Diagnostic utility - A tool for better troubleshooting of policy issues.
• ESS Dialog Access when Altiris Icon is Hidden - The Endpoint Security Solution dialog is available from the start menu for situations when the Altiris Agent system tray icon is hidden.

Fixes

• Large Files - The copying and reporting of large files to removable media included in hot fix 1.
• Sub-solution Co-existence - ESS can be installed with RSSS or WSS with full UI elements and policy capabilities. This supersedes hot fix 2.
• Fix policies to only be requested when change - Policies are now only applied when there is a change.
• Other minor fixes

Removable Storage Security Solution 6.0 Service Pack 1 and Wireless Security Solution 6.0 provide subsets of functionality of Endpoint Security Solution and are also available for download and installation.
