It's really not that difficult to direct a Unix, Linux or Macintosh client to a different NS server. Simply change the 'Server-1' value in the client.conf, restart the agent and voila! The following shell script will even do it all for you!

Just how good is your Inventory Forwarding?

For those of you using multiple Notification Servers to gather inventory, how often do you check your forwarding to make sure that it's showing the same data on both the source and destination NS? If you're not, and you run your reports on the central NS, you could be in for a surprise!

Hey all. As many of you know I do a lot work with application compatibility with SVS and I'm working on a new list of applications to test. I want to know what you use with SVS or which applications you'd like to use with SVS but haven't been able to capture (that don't fall into drivers or system components).

Per machine advertisement followed by installation by a normal user account is the most comprehensive test for this situation. As an administrator use the following command line to advertise the application to the local machine.
