SVS Cleaner Script for Office 2007
Recently, I created a layer of Office 2007 and when I ran the SVS Cleaner tool, I realised that it was cleaning too much. So, I wrote an SVSClean.csv configuration file for SVS Cleaner that is compatible with Office 2007.
The attached file adds Office 2007 support to my SVS Cleaner utility.
What's the difference between Activate and "Start layer automatically"?
Q:
Lincoln asked, "we have OnPostActivate events in our layers, but they never run unless you manually de-activate and then re-activate the layers. All of our layers are set to start automatically. Shouldn't the OnPostActivate events run when SVS starts the layer during windows boot-up?"

SVS Integration with Notification Server - Part 7: Custom Inventory
In Part 6 of this series, the basic concept of Inventory Solution and how Software Virtualization Solution fits in with the current version was covered. Part 7 now takes the concept into practice, showing how Custom Inventory can be setup to capture the state of the layer, and how the audit data can be used to join the data and show a complete picture of what layers are activated on the target computers. The best part is that both the SVS stand-alone agent and the SVS Solution integration are supported.
SVS Integration with Notification Server - Part 6: Inventory Solution
Want to know who's utilizing the magic of SVS in your environment? Do you need to track who's using applications requiring a license? Do you know what layers are being used in the environment, how many are being used, and on what computers? If you are using SVS in Notification Server, there are pre-canned reports that provide good information.

SVS4USB Admin 2.1.2048 is Out the Door!
This contribution is a kind of tribute to Ericw and Shrek, who first published a U3 port(s) of SVSAdmin
Just unzip and doubleclick the SVSAdmin2.1.2084.exe file.
You need a U3 Stick to install this application, or else the installer won't work.
