Since I wrote how to enable AClient remote control in WinPE 1.6, I have had a lot of people ask me if it is possible to remote control in WinPE 2.1. I have just figured out that it is possible! While it is not as easy as enabling AClient remote control, it is not too difficult and it is worth the effort to be able to right-click any computer that is running a job in automation so that you can view the progress and troubleshoot any problems that may arise. If you notice that a computer has been stuck in automation for a long time, you can simply remote control the computer to fix the problem.

I have decided to post the compiled executable version of the NSIS Hotfix Installer I made for Deployment Server 6.9 All Hotfixes (6.9.177). This single executable file will patch your Deployment Server(s) to the latest Hotfix.

If you have any problems with the precompiled executable, you can find the original .nsi file here and you can find instructions about how to edit an compile it here.

It's really not that difficult to direct a Unix, Linux or Macintosh client to a different NS server. Simply change the 'Server-1' value in the client.conf, restart the agent and voila! The following shell script will even do it all for you!

If you've ever had a domain join fail, you can understand how frustrating it can be to troubleshoot. There is a log file that will make it much easier to figure out what is wrong.
