A:
Terry, here is a fairly complete list of supported hardware, though the list will obviously grow:
- Integrated Handheld Devices (handheld and barcode)
- Symbol PPT 2800, PPT 8100, and PPT 8800 *
- Symbol MC50 (Barcode 6.6) *
- Barcode Devices
- Socket Cordless hand scanner * (Bluetooth)
- Socket SD, CF Scanner (Barcode 6.6)
- Flic Cordless Bluetooth Scanner
- RFID Devices
- Global ID CF Reader
- Promag ProxData CF Reader / Writer
- *Recommended
Recommended Handheld Devices
- HP iPaq hx2000 series, hx4700, h6300
- Dell X50
Note: The next version (currently in Beta) will support Windows Mobile 5 devices such as the Dell X51, Symbol MC70, and HP 2400 series).

Symbol MC50 is a great device
To test and demo Barcode out I've used the Dell X50, however the Symbol MC50 is a great device. Easy to use and picks up barcodes quite well.
Question Regarding Supported Barcode Devices and O/Ss
Two of the recommended devices are the Symbol PPT 8800 and Symbol MC50. The database sheet shown above (for additional information) states that "Symbol devices must be running Pocket PC 2003". I am being told by hardware vendors that the PPT 8800 comes with Windows Mobile 2003 or Windows CE O/S and that the MC50 only comes with Windows Mobile 2003. The documentation for Barcode Solution 6.6 SP2 states that the above 2 scanners are supported but also states that the supported O/Ss are Windows Mobile 2005 and Pocket PC 2003. I'm confused! Seems like the recommended devices and O/S on the devices are not coinciding. It seems I can only get Windows Mobile 2003 on these devices. Will that work with Barcode Solution 6.6?
