NS Startup Error: [Re-Configure]

I recently has this error when I logged onto the NS box and opened the NS console. To my surprise I wasn't greeted with the normal NS console, but instead I was faced with this:

This is a template script that can be used to generate all of the xml files for configuration of an HP lights out board as part of the build, it has some logic in it too for generation of the name of the ilo - just un rem the sections that you need and customize it.

It builds the name of the ilo by reading the computer name and then inserting a LO in the middle (for dns resolution).

Everyone has seen the "Bad" folders in NS Event queues and if not deleted they grow and grow, waste disk space and also decrease server performance.

Yes, you can manually delete them, but people tend to forget about them.

I created this script so that I don't have to repeat the same job over and over again and waste time, this script does it automatically for me.

Here's the scenario: you have an HP server and you need to rebuild it. To do this you need to pxe boot it, but its off site and you have no remote view when the OS is not up :-( Well I had to do this and not just 1 server... double :-( Luckily I came across a tool in the HP SmartStart Scripting Toolkit, called setbootorder.exe.

I'm new to altiris (3 days!) and I'm creating a new master image for the HP T5730 XPe.
I'm trying to upload an image using an automation job in ther console.

When I modify the job image path and name I keep getting an error that the path doesn't exists.

Hi,

I have one doubt in upgradation using Altiris wise Package studio. Suppose if i want to upgrade the new version of Adobe Reader 8.0 means should i enter all the GUID of the earlier versions of Adobe reader(eg version4,5 etc)? Kindly clarify my doubts.

HP/Compaq 8510w Deployment Issue

Our company recently purchased several HP/Compaq 8510w notebooks.

When trying to capture an image from one (we set up to our standards) we received an error when PXE booting into WinPE. The machines boot into WinPE and then present a "Disk not Found" error. These laptops are using SATA hard drives so after some brief searching in the BIOS I Disabled a setting "SATA Native Mode" and retried the image capture.

A Caution About Installation Depots on 64-bit Windows

Just a quick heads-up in case this affects anyone else besides me.

I have a scripted deployment for Windows 2000 servers. It operates doing a PXE boot in DOS mode, copies the install files from the depot and runs the install.

All worked well, until I moved the depot to a 64-bit Windows machine. It turns out, the DOS mode network client doesn't seem to play nicely with 64 bit Windows.
