SVS 2.1 SP2 Beta Now Available
We are pleased to announce the release of Software Virtualization Solution 2.1 SP2 into the beta program. We welcome you to register for the product at http://beta.altiris.com, and begin testing at your convenience.
SVS 2.1 SP2 is a service pack intended to address certain defects and stability issues with some minor feature enhancements including integration with Notification Server 7.0, support for Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008, and multiple file import.
We anticipate the beta cycle for this product to run for approximately six weeks. We look forward to your input once you have concluded your testing.

















What's in this build
Here's a quick list of the major changes to SVS with this beta:
OS: We're supporting Sever 2008 and Vista SP1 with this release (still no capture on either)
SVSAdmin: You can now Import multiple VSAs at a time (it's a que).
Fixes (There are a few more then what I'm listing)
On a Windows Vista operating system, if one user logged off and another user logged, the SVS user variables were not loaded and specific sub-folders were not created for the second user. This has been fixed.
The SVSCMD executable can now reference a GUID when exporting a layer.
Multiple issues that caused blue screens were fixed.

Hello.
I think that I have found an fault in the software, upon installation from a usb key the installation fails, the only way I was able to get it to work was to copy it to the harddrive and running it from there. Hope that this problem will be fixed soon.

So I've tested this and
So I've tested this and haven't been able to duplicate the problem. Maybe there's some software on the system preventing installs via external drives but it's not anything directly caused by SVS.
