Software Virtualization Solution 2.1 HotFix 1 has been posted to the Altiris Knowledgebase. This HotFix includes fixes for three blue screens reported to Microsoft via the Online Crash Analysis system. All SVS customers should use this update.

If you ever have a crash in Windows -- with any product, not just Altiris/Symantec -- please click "Yes" when asked if you want to send the crash info to Microsoft! There is no quicker way to get defect details to a software vendor so they can fix the problem, often before other customers ever see it.

Also included in the HotFix is a registry cache enhancement that preserves correct operation of SVS when used with Scense on terminal servers.

Interesting information about how is managed an error reported to Microsoft and is a good news that this hotfix is the final result of these reports.
Now I realize that when BSOD happens could be really helpful send this info to MS OCA system for the resolution.

Thanks for this suggestion, regards.

Update or new version?

I'm wandering if this is a update, or a complete new version?

This is abou 6.6 mb large, and there fore the biggest version ever.
The initial version where this patch is mentioned for is about 5.1 mb large.
But for the best? It solves one of my problems also. Because it does not cache anymore to the memory, the memory leaks that occured in the latest release are solved.
Keep on this good work.

Erik

SVS 2.1 Hotfix

The "big" size you see for the ZIP file is due to the content of the bellow EXE and an the MSI.

The Software_Virtualization_Agent.EXE can be used for both upgrade and for a full complete installation.

Worthwhile

A Worthwhile Upgrade, Looks like a good improvement!

Still no 64 bit support?

I was hoping this latest build would support Vista x64. When will SVS support the 64 bit platforms? Is there a timeframe for a 64 bit beta?
