The Altiris component used to route notification messages to the appropriate worker. The Alert Manager is the built-in Notification System problem-tracking facility. When a problem arises, a ticket can be added to the facility (which helps you track the problem), can send e-mail alerts about the problem, and maintains a history of the problem as the problem is resolved. If you are using Altiris Helpdesk Solution, Helpdesk takes over the role of Alert Manager.
