System time changes after image capture
We recently moved to DS 6.9 from 6.4. On our first image capture with WinPE, we prepped the machine with SYSPREP using Mini setup and Reseal. I set the date, time and time zone. When we redeploy the image, the system time has changed (back 4 hours) The time zone did not change. Nothing else seems to have changed. I corrected the time and recaptured the image, but the same thing happened. The time on the server is correct, as is the time zone. The BIOS time matches what the OS says. this is a minor problem, but annoying. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

RE: System time changes after image capture
I have seen this when VMWare ESX or ESXi are in the network mix. In my environment ESX takes over the time sync.

We too experience this, and it has become a huge anoyance. It happens on all the Dell machines we image.
RE: System time changes after image capture.
Thanks for the reply. I dont have VMware running anywhere on the network. If I select (in the AClient)"synchronize date/time with deployment server", the time corrects itself. None of our other Altiris imaged machines are set to work this way though, and they seem to be all OK
RE: System time changes after image capture.
We just pulled an image from an HP DC7800 SFF PC, and it did the same thing. We used the same WINPE Bootworks image for both devices, and now I'm wondering if that is where the problem is coming from. I don't know enough about WINPE to be sure, but since it is an OS, i would think it has some kind of system time connected with it. i am going to look into this.
