Monitor Metrics and SDK

Does anyone on here know if I can use the SDK to create metrics for Monitor Solution?

I have about 70 metrics that are perfmon type metrics that I want to duplicate and change the source on.

Basically, SQLExpress uses the format fo MSSQL$SQLSERVER: instead of SQLSERVER: to prepend all metrics. I don't really want to just rename my SQLSERVER perf metrics but would rather duplicate them.

Any ideas?
