Imaging Dell Latitude D830 laptops

I am running into an error after I have selected DOS as the preboot operating system. The Error is:

Error 3685: The IFSHLP.SYS driver is not installed.

Could not authenticate network connection

I appreciate any help that anyone might have to offer.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Wrong nic driver

The error you subscribe is normally because of a wrong network nic.
The Dell D830 is not responding very well on the Undi driver, so i guess that is your problem.

Thanks Erik

I will check it out. Any chance you ran across a solution? Did you just replace the Undi driver?

Thanks,
Mike

We have some differents Dell laptops, including D8xx , as suggested by Erik and based on our experiece the UNDI driver should be the right solution in your case.

Right driver

My dear Italian friend,

Cann you give him the Undi driver you are using.
That probably solves his problem.

UNDI is DOS only

The UNDI driver is DOS only and does not allow mulitcast.

If you have a DOS preboot environment then you have the UNDI driver, you don't have to "install it"

UNDI Driver

The driver option used in my organization is in the "Network Adapter" panel , 'Use Intel universal Network Adapter driver for Preboot Execution Envrionement (PXE).

Remember in PXE Configuration Utility, to choose 'Bootworks boot disk' and leave the checkbox next to 'Run Initial Deployment for computers not already in the database' blank.
So you will see the UNDI driver in the next panel where will required to specify the netw. driver.
