Licence Version vs Software Version

Hello all,

I have got Altiris to the stage where I am recording assets by location and department and associating win32 licences with department and asset.

The way in which my company works is that each department has their own set of assets and win32 licence count which we procure and charge for centrally and pass the costs down to the department.

However I have a problem with the differences between licence version and software installed version. To give an example:

John Smith has an MS Access 2007 licence but has installed MS Access 2003. Under the licence agreement he is allowed to do this and for a variety of reasons we don't want him to change, however I can't find a way to use Altiris to recognise that the 2007 licence belongs to the 2003 install. As it is currently the result is that it would appear that Mr Smith does not have a licence.

The only way I can see this working is by doing it manually which would be a massive piece of work.

Any ideas?
