Computer assets are reporting incorrectly

I was trying to image a system and it reported it's mac as another system that was already in the deployment console. After a few seconds the logged on user and computername changed again it seems to be an intermittent problem. I also keep loosing my aclient connection it works for a few minutes than goes white then it connects again. I am using DS 6.8 we are migrating to AD finally and seem to be having some major connectivity issues.
Change your primary key?
Have you tried changing your primary key to something like Serial number?
That solved a lot of our issues we had that sounded similar to what you're saying.

Changed to the serial number and it seems to have solved the problem.
