SSL POP3 or something else?
Hello,
Our Exchange Servers required SSL from today to connect.
I am attempting to set up an email inbox using the same POP3 account I was usingbefore SSL (meaning this morningbefore 10:30 a.m.). However, my email server requires SSL for authentication which Helpdesk SP5 does not seem to support. The mail server is Exchange 2007. Is there something I can do to enable SSL within Helpdesk?
I am getting an error:
Inbox processing exception: Error connecting to email inbox. Error receiving data from socket.
I tried the KB 33184 but it does not seem to work..
BAD NEWS!!!!
As the Exchange team has implemented the SSL on the servers (POP3) we are no more able to process the email coming to the inbox AltirisInbox. I called Altiris (#Incident 242660) and the usage of SSL is just a feature request for now and will not appear before the next version of Helpdesk Solution which will be called Service Desk which is planned for Q1-2009.https://kb.altiris.com/article.asp?article=26915&p=1
No workaround except a server not using SSL
All our servers will use SSL within this summer…this means we will not be able to use the Email Inbox process anymore!!!
Does anybody has another workaround?
Thanks,
