Synchronising folders of jobs between Deployment Console servers

We are just about to increase the number of DC servers we run from 2 to 5/6. So far any synchronisation of jobs has been by hand, and very hit & miss.
I now need a method of synchronising a folder tree of software deployment jobs across all DC servers. Ideally this would allow us to replicate the whole of this tree, including deletions and changes to jobs, without losing histories or breaking some of our 'hands free' jobs that run a series of individual software deployment jobs to set up PCs.
I have looked at axExport and axImport and the combination does not seem able to give us what we want. We can export and import new jobs but not much more. If a job has changed and we want to use the updated job then all the original job history is lost if the new job overwrites the original. Individual jobs cannot be deleted, only the contents of folders.
Has anyone got any method that fits our needs or has looked for a solution and failed?

Can you give some more details. My understanding is that DFS can synchronise files, such as the exported .bin files for jobs, but I did not think it could handle the jobs themselves.
Our core problem is that if we need to synchronise an edited job then history and references to the job are lost. I think axEvent can do this but as far as I can see there is no way to export a job in a format that can be used as a base for editing.
Not being able to delete specific jobs is nuisance that we could live with.

have you looked at the DS library (and related) functionality in NS?
That should do what you want, I think...
