reinstalling shortcuts

after making a msi in wise package studio i installed it with SMS example.(took some varibles out for easy on the eyes)

msiexec.exe /i "c:\medic.msi"

Let's say a user deleted the desktop shortcut built into the msi.

The tech reinstalls the sms package and the shortcut will not come back.

Alternatively if the /f switch is used on the package in SMS the intial package will not install because that is a repair switch.

Is the something I should be doing in Wise to resolve this issue? Or recommendations?
