Closest package server

Closest package server

We have 4 DS's and 4 package servers. We will be adding more package servers in the future. I heard that DS has a function that will find the closest package server and pull the files from there. Is this true? If so where do I look?

PXE vs Package

Package Servers are linked to your NS.
PXE Servers are linked to your DS.

You can run both on one server if you like. I am sure there are lots of different ways to configure them.

If your DS box has the Altiris Agent on it (I am sure it does) then it should be pulling its configurations from the nearest package server.

You may want to provide a little more detail as there could be some confusion on what you are exactly asking. What type of files are you talking about exactly?
