Using "Signup" Feature to Send Event Reminders and Manage RSVPs
Submitted by Juicemaster on 12 February, 2008 - 17:39.
When you create an event, you can also enable the "Signup" functionality to help manage attendance.
Signup does the following:
- Asks your users to RSVP to the event by clicking on a link and providing some contact information.
- Sends them an event reminder at a predetermined time (usually 1 day) before the event.
To enable Signup:
- On the Event submission form (Create content > Event) there's a link (close to the bottom of the form) labeled "Signup settings".
- Click this link.
- The form will now expand to show two radio buttons: Enabled and Disabled.
- Click "Enabled".
- Signup is now enabled.
- The form will expand to allow you to provide information like who should receive notification e-mails (probably you) when people RSVP.
- It will also ask for the text you would like to use in the confirmation e-mails and the reminder e-mails.
