CM B07 - Introduction to Application Virtualization with SVS

Sr. Systems Engineer Ed Chiles joined Product Manager Scott Jones for this overview session of Symantec's application virtualization phenomenon -- SVS! They walked through basic features and benefits and discussed how application streaming supplements virtualization to provide a complete solution for more flexible, more controlled software management.

At the beginning of the session, Ed and Scott collected "most pressing desktop management issues" written down by the audience members. At the end, they went through the submissions and lo and behold -- most of them had already been called out in the presentation as issues that application virtualization and/or streaming can help with! For those issues they missed, they drew the connection.

The key message: SVS has so many benefits, that it's relevant to almost every desktop management issue you may be grappling with, whether it be the productivity gap between a user needing an app and actually having it to use, the cost of desk-side visits for fixing broken apps, delivering apps to unmanaged desktops... or you name it!

Their favorite "most pressing desktop management issue" submitted? The paper just said, "software sucks!"
